This is Valamar Riviera's first large acquisition on the Adriatic and comes as a confirmation of the company's intentions to grow by expanding on the Adriatic and in the region.
After the payment of the purchase price, Valamar Riviera will acquire 96.84% of shares in the company Baškaturist d.o.o., 91.24% of shares in the company Mirta Bašćanska d.o.o. and 99.67% of shares in the company Vala Bašćanska d.o.o. for the total purchase price of 23.2 million euro. The transaction is expected to be finalized by the end of June.
„I am proud of the fact that we have yesterday completed the announced acquisition of Hoteli Baška d.d.. Baška is one of the best and most attractive holiday destinations on the Kvarner, the employees of Hoteli Baška d.d. have been doing a great job in the past so I am sure that they will continue to develop Baška, now in collaboration with Valamar. One of the key activities in the upcoming period will be planning and detailing future investments in Baška and development of the entire Krk destination, where Valamar is now, after this acquisition, the leader“, said Željko Kukurin, CEO of Valamar Riviera.
Hoteli Baška d.d. include the Hotel Corinthia 3* with 431 accomodation units, Hotel Zvonimir 4* with 85 rooms, Atrium and Adria 4/5* offering 92 accommodation units and two campsites which can accommodate up to 3,000 guests.
Valamar is already present and active on the island of Krk through the portfolio of the former »Zlatni Otok« company – now Hotel Valamar Koralj in Krk and camping sites Ježevac, Krk and Škrila in which some 150 million kuna has been invested over the past ten years. Hoteli Baška's business model and tourism properties are highly compatible with the current Valamar portfolio on the island of Krk. The deal represents further consolidation in the destination where Valamar has so far enjoyed good results and return on investment.
