Valamar Riviera d.d., the leading tourism company in Croatia, won several prestigious awards conferred last night at the traditional Croatian Tourism Days held in Poreč. Three of Valamar’s employees from Dubrovnik were awarded in the category “People –The Key to Success in Tourism/Employee of the Year”: Jozo Krešić, employed in the Hotel Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik 4*, awarded in the WAITER category, Smiljana Lovrić, employed in the Hotel Valamar Argosy 4*, in the RECEPTION STAFF category, and Lucija Erhardt, employed by Valamar Riviera d.d. in Dubrovnik, in the TOURISM SALES AND MARKETING STAFF category.

“These three of these exceptional honours given to our employees constitute an exceptional achievement on which I most sincerely congratulate them. The first step of Valamar’s development strategy acknowledges people as the key to success in achieving excellence in services, and then the excellence of services as the driver of growth in the value of doing business in tourism. So for years we have been fostering an environment that facilitates learning and advancement, which justly rewards and recognizes individual and team accomplishments, respects each employee and his or her rights and needs and encourages a genial and stimulating corporate culture. I believe that these honours serve as an additional impetus not only for individuals but also for Valamar as a whole to keep building a culture of excellence,” noted Ivana Budin Arhanić, the Vice President in Charge of Business Development, Strategic Management and Corporate Affairs.

Valamar Riviera also won an award in the Beach of the Year category for Cava Beach in Dubrovnik. This is a very attractive beach next to Valamar’s hotels in Babin kuk, in which Valamar Riviera, together with a partner, invested approximately HRK 14 million so that guests can enjoy the finest cuisine, beverages and all-day stays in a simple natural oasis. New attractions and experiences are exceptionally vital as drivers of growth and development in tourism, so it is praiseworthy that major awards in tourism not only honour accommodations and people, but also investments in raising the quality of the product at the destination as a whole.

The first part of the Croatian Tourism Days conference was held in the Valamar Isabella Island Resort 4*, which is this year’s largest investment by Valamar Riviera d.d., worth a total of HRK 250 million. At the two-day meeting, which gathered a high number of tourism industry professionals, the 2015 tourist season was analysed, and the major activities to prepare for the 2016 season were announced.
