During today's 13th Croatian Exporters Conference organized under the auspices of the Croatian government, the Croatian Exporters’ Association presented the Golden Key Award to Valamar Riviera in the 2017 Best Large Exporter category. Valamar won the award among other strong contenders such as Končar – energetski transformatori d.o.o. and Pliva Hrvatska d.o.o.
The award was bestowed by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and, when accepting the award on behalf of Valamar Riviera, Management Board Member Marko Čižmek said: “It is a great honour and pleasure for me to receive the Golden Key Award on behalf of Valamar Riviera. The tourism sector is the largest exporter in Croatia’s economy, and as the largest tourism company, Valamar Riviera achieved as much as HRK 1.6 billion in international sales revenues in 2017. Therefore, it is of vital importance for tourism to have competitive business conditions for the global market when talking about the fiscal policy, labour market and foreign exchange stability. Valamar Riviera is today among the top ten companies in Croatia by market capitalization. The Golden Key Awards is among the highest recognitions that our company has received.”
Valamar is the only company in the tourism sector to receive the Golden Key award and, as of 2014, it has been the only tourism company to be nominated along with other prestigious Croatian companies.
