Valamar Riviera receives the Golden Kuna Award

Valamar Riviera is the most successful Istrian hotel company; Valamar Riviera is the leading tourism company and one of the most active Croatian investors in tourism and hospitality: it invests 2.5% of annual revenues in corporate responsibility programs

According to last year’s financial indicators, Valamar Riviera d.d. is the most successful Istrian company among large enterprises and also the most successful Istrian hotel company. This has been confirmed by the Golden Kuna Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the Croatian business world, with a 20-year tradition, and awarded by the Croatian Chamber of Economy- Pula County Chamber.

Valamar Riviera is the leading tourism company and the largest employer with over 4,100 people in the peak season in Poreč, Rabac, the island of Krk and Dubrovnik. It welcomes over 800,000 guests every year and operates about 10% of the total categorized accommodation in 25 hotels and resorts and 13 camping resorts with an accommodation capacity for 48,000 guests.

Corporate social responsibility at Valamar is rooted in the belief that sustainable business should be a strategic goal and key driver of new value. The company’s CSR efforts are organized into eight important umbrella programs and it has committed 2.5% of annual revenues to implementing the projects and carrying out the activities included in these programs. In fact, the company supported CSR programs with over HRK 37 million in 2016 only.
