Valamar presented this year’s investments worth HRK 793 million with the opening of Valamar Collection Marea Suites 5* in Poreč and Istra Premium Camping Resort 5*in Funtana.
This closed the 3-year investment cycle worth HRK 2.5 billion and confirmed Valamar’s status as the largest company in Croatian tourism and leading national investor.
“Valamar has invested HRK 5.8 billion in Croatian tourism so far, including this year’s investments. As part of our 3-year development strategy, we invested a total of HRK 2.5 billion in our hospitality portfolio, and if we also include expansion investments and acquisitions, the total is over HRK 3 billion. Besides repositioning the portfolio towards premium products and services, Valamar keeps investing in working conditions and employee development and thanks to these efforts, Valamar was recognized as the best employer in Croatian tourism. This year we have created around 400 new jobs, so this summer there will be around 7,000 people working at Valamar,” said Ivana Budin Arhanić, Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Affairs at Valamar.
The two new, large 5-star properties - Valamar Collection Marea Suites 5* in Poreč and Istra Premium Camping Resort 5* in Funtana- were presented to the press during the opening. They have already welcomed their first guests and are reporting strong booking figures for this season. The unique Valamar Collection Marea Suites 5* completed the segment of Collection properties in Poreč. The construction of this HRK 140 million investment started in autumn and was successfully completed in only 8 months, engaging 25 national companies in the construction.
“Valamar Collection Marea Suites 5* has been designed for families with children, thus expanding the family-oriented portfolio segment in Poreč. Our guests can enjoy V level services, luxury suites with sea view, more than 200 square meters of attractive pools, a new beach, restaurants, sports facilities and Maro amenities for children of all ages,” said Ozren Renko, resort GM. The investment in Istra Premium Camping Resort 5*, Valamar’s first large 5-star campsite and one of the best in the Mediterranean, represents Valamar’s further focus on developing the camping segment by introducing premium products and services. In the last two years, HRK 280 million have been invested in Istra Premium Camping Resort 5*. “Istra Premium Camping Resort 5* features a large family Acquapark spreading over 1,000 m2 of water areas, a large entertainment arena with a cinema, stage, children’s clubs and playrooms as well as Super Maro children’s programs. It also features one of the best Valamar beaches overlooking Vrsar’s old town, Piazza, restaurants, bars, V Sport Park, playgrounds, glamping tents and luxury mobile homes with private pools. It is a family resort offering high added value in the camping segment, “said Lea Sošić, Head of Product Development at Valamar. This season, Valamar’s guests can enjoy the new TUI Sensimar Carolina Resort by Valamar and Padova Premium Camping Resort on Rab Island, new features at Valamar Meteor Hotel in Makarska, Lanterna Premium Camping Resort and Ježevac Premium Camping Resort on Krk Island.
