Valamar Riviera is the first company to receive the “Pride of Croatia” –a prestigious award for charitable activities whose winners are chosen by the public

Valamar Riviera, the leading Croatian tourism company, received the “Pride of Croatia” award for its charity program “A thousand days on the Adriatic Sea” on Friday. This program offers free summer vacations to children without adequate parental care, children from low-income families, special needs children and children with specific health problems. “A thousand days on the Adriatic Sea” has been ongoing for three years and more than one thousand children have spent their summer vacations at one of Valamar’s properties so far.

“Most of the children who were included in the program had never seen the sea before. This was their first summer vacation and the first time they stayed at a hotel. The children were overjoyed about this experience and they managed to pass on their positive energy to the hotel staff and all the people who were involved in this program. Their happiness and positive energy should be a motivation to all of us in the tourism business to make sure there are no more children in Croatia who have never seen the sea,”said Ivana Budin Arhanić, Valamar Riviera’s Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Affairs at the awarding ceremony.
