Destination Dubrovnik has received two recognitions this year: Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik Hotel 4* was awarded for the fifth consecutive year as Croatia’s Leading Business Hotel and passed last year’s title of Croatia’s Leading Hotel to Valamar Collection Dubrovnik President Hotel 5*.

“It is a great pleasure to be awarded once or twice but being awarded for the sixth consecutive year is truly an exceptional honour for all of us at Valamar who continually work on upgrading the quality of our services and products. We are proud of our personalized approach and our ValamArtists who create unforgettable memories for all our guests each day. This recognition confirms that we are on the right track and have a clear vision and it also motivates us to keep up the good work”, said Marko Miš, general manager at Valamar Riviera Hotel. “It is a great honour that this year again both guests and professionals recognized not only the great value of our resort, but also the exceptional value of our colleagues’ constant efforts to deliver top quality service with a smile every day. With this year’s opening of Valamar Girandella Maro Suites we completed the investments in destination Rabac, thus securing a full range of services and products designed for families and couples in the beautiful town of Rabac. This award stimulates us to be even more successful and it belongs to the whole Valamar team”, said Karmela Višković, general manager at Valamar Collection Girandella Resort. Ivica Sabljić, general manager at Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik Hotel said: “With the largest congress facilities in the region, trained staff and top-notch services and products offered by Valamar and this destination, we have set some truly high standards for hosting events ranging from large congresses to smaller meetings. The fact that the professional world has recognized our continual efforts to upgrade the quality of services for the fifth consecutive year is a great honour and it also confirms our leading position in the segment of congress tourism.” “Dubrovnik has been at the forefront of Croatia’s tourism for years now and the hotel industry has had a major role in it. This recognition confirms the hotel team’s hard work and commitment and represents a great responsibility, but it also tells us that we are on the right path and motivates us to create unforgettable luxury holiday experiences and provide the best service for our guests. I am convinced that we are in for more awards and professional recognitions in the years to come”, concluded Matko Marić, manager at Valamar Collection Dubrovnik President Hotel.

This year’s recognitions confirm the top status of Valamar hotels in Croatia that operate according to the best standards in hospitality. World Travel Awards celebrates its 25th anniversary year in 2018. It was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. Hailed as the Oscars of the travel industry by the Wall Street Journal, the awards cover a broad range of categories. Since candidates are voted by travel industry professionals, it is a great honour to compete for this coveted trophy.

Dubrovnik has received another valuable recognition recently: the editorial board of the renowned European meetings industry magazine “Kongres Magazine” announced the winners of the “Meeting Star Awards 2018”. The winner in the “M meeting destination” category (destinations that can host up to 1200 congress attendees) was Dubrovnik, described as the closest in the region to renowned Mediterranean convention destinations such as Cannes and Monte Carlo. This year the editorial board analysed over 84 towns and cities from 23 world’s destinations according to the strict 75 evaluation criteria.
