Easy as One, Two, Tree: Valamar Enables the Planting of 9,000 Trees

As part of Valamar’s ‘Easy as One, Two, Tree’ initiative, funds have been provided for the planting of over 9,000 new tree saplings, including 1,000 saplings planted in the Motovun Forest during a major reforestation campaign under the CO2MPENSATING BY PLANTING project.

With the participation of as many as 200 volunteers, the Motovun Forest has been enriched with 1,000 saplings of native pedunculate oak, replacing old poplars. Additional plantings are taking place in the areas of Petrinja and Karlovac. Valamar carries out the ‘Easy as One, Two, Tree’ initiative in its hotels, resorts, and camps, allowing guests to donate funds for the planting of new trees, with the company matching each donated tree with an additional one.

“‘We are pleased that a large number of Valamar guests have once again joined this valuable initiative, which contributes to the reforestation of Croatia and raises awareness about the importance of environmental protection,” said Tea Pestotnik Prebeg, Director of the Quality and Sustainability Sector at Valamar.

As in previous seasons, Valamar guests once again played a key role in the ‘Easy as One, Two, Tree’ initiative, launched in collaboration with the CO2MPENSATING BY PLANTING initiative of the Croatian Scout Association, Hrvatske Šume (Croatian Forests), and the HEARTH agency, which aims to enable companies, cities, and municipalities to offset their carbon footprint through tree planting.

So far, over the past four years, Valamar, with the help of guest donations, has enabled the planting of more than 32,000 trees in the Splitsko-dalmatinska, Karlovačka, Primorsko-goranska, Sisačko-moslavačka, and Istria counties.
